1. What Loryn is
Loryn is a software tool that captures your prop-firm futures fills automatically — through the Tradovate API, and, for Topstep, the TopstepX (ProjectX) API — stores them in a private database, and — on the Standard and Pro plans (coming soon) — offers an AI assistant that can review your trading and answer questions. Loryn does not place trades and does not move money.
2. Not financial advice — read this
Loryn is an automatic journal and a reflection tool. It is for informational and educational use only. Nothing Loryn shows you is financial, investment, trading, tax, or legal advice, and nothing Loryn shows you is a recommendation, solicitation, or signal to buy, sell, hold, or size any futures contract, security, or other instrument.
On the Standard and Pro plans (the AI assistant is coming soon), this includes everything the AI assistant produces — summaries, "verdicts," pattern observations, risk readings, commentary, and anything it says in voice mode. The AI is automated software and can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Treat its output as one input you may choose to consider, never as instructions.
Using Loryn does not create any advisory, brokerage, or fiduciary relationship between you and the operator, and Loryn is not a substitute for a licensed professional. You alone are responsible for every trading decision you make and for every order you place with your broker. Past results shown in your journal do not guarantee or indicate future results.
3. What Loryn is not (regulatory status)
The operator of Loryn is an individual and is not a broker, broker-dealer, futures commission merchant, introducing broker, registered investment adviser, commodity trading advisor (CTA), commodity pool operator (CPO), or financial institution. The operator is not registered with, and Loryn is not endorsed by, the SEC, CFTC, NFA, FINRA, or any other regulator in any of those capacities. Loryn does not manage your account, does not place or route orders, does not execute trades, and never holds, receives, or moves your money or positions.
Loryn is read-only software that records trades you already made through your own broker and helps you review them. It is not a trading system, signal service, managed-account service, or prop firm, and it is not affiliated with any prop firm. Anything Loryn shows you is for your own personal record-keeping and reflection only — see "Not financial advice" above.
4. Risk of loss
Trading futures and other leveraged instruments involves substantial risk and is not suitable for everyone. You can lose some or all of the money you put at risk, and leverage can cause losses to mount quickly. If you trade a prop-firm evaluation or funded account (for example with Apex), that account also carries its own rules under which it can be failed or closed. You accept all of these risks yourself. Loryn only records and reflects trading you have already chosen to do — it does not place trades, and it does not reduce, manage, or insure your risk.
5. Data accuracy — Loryn is best-effort; your broker is the record
Loryn captures your fills automatically through your prop firm's official API — the Tradovate API, which you authorize by connecting your Tradovate account, or the TopstepX (ProjectX) API for Topstep, which you authorize with an API key you provide — and computes statistics, P&L, and AI summaries from them. This capture is best-effort, not guaranteed. Outages, disconnects, rate limits, a revoked or expired connection, an unpaid or expired subscription, or unsaved events can cause fills to be delayed, duplicated, mismatched, or missed entirely — which means your journal, and every number and AI observation derived from it, may be incomplete or wrong.
Everything Loryn displays is an estimate for your own review. Your broker's official statements — and, if you trade with a prop firm, that firm's statements — are the authoritative record of your trades, balances, profit and loss, and standing. Do not rely on Loryn as a system of record for taxes, accounting, audit, regulatory, or (where applicable) prop-firm-compliance purposes. Reconcile your journal against your broker statements regularly. We are not responsible for any decision, filing, loss, or other consequence arising from gaps in, or errors in, captured or computed data.
6. Your account
You need an account to use Loryn. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and not share your account. You must be at least 18 years old.
7. Pricing, automatic renewal, and billing
- Journal: $19 per month, or $190 per year (about 2 months free). Standard: $29 per month, or $290 per year (about 2 months free). Pro: $59 per month, or $590 per year (about 2 months free). Standard and Pro add the AI assistant and are not yet available; the Journal plan — the complete automatic journal — is the plan currently offered for purchase.
- Capturing a Topstep account additionally requires your own ProjectX API subscription (about $14.50 per month with promo code “topstep”), which is billed by ProjectX and is a separate third-party cost, not a Loryn charge. Tradovate-cleared firms have no such requirement.
- Your subscription renews automatically. When you subscribe, you authorize recurring charges: at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, depending on the plan you chose) your saved payment method is automatically charged the then-current price for the next period, and this continues until you cancel.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- You can cancel any time, online, by yourself — go to Settings → Subscription → Manage billing, which opens the secure Stripe billing portal where you can cancel. No phone call or email is required. Cancelling stops the next automatic renewal; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- No refunds for partial periods. If a charge is in error, contact us within 30 days.
- Prices may change for future renewals only. We will email you at least 30 days before any price change takes effect, so you can cancel before the new price is charged.
8. Failed payment
If a payment fails, Stripe automatically retries the charge over a grace period. While it is retrying, you keep access. If the payment stays unresolved (typically after about two weeks of failed retries), your subscription is restricted — Loryn stops capturing new fills (and, on the AI plans, stops processing new AI requests), but your existing data remains viewable. If it is still unresolved (typically around 30 days), the subscription is canceled and your data is then retained for an additional 30 days before deletion. Exact timing follows Stripe's retry schedule.
9. Acceptable use
Don't use Loryn to abuse our systems, to harm other users, or to violate any law. Don't try to reverse-engineer the service, scrape it at high volume, or use it to train a competing AI product.
10. NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Topstep, your broker, and independence
Loryn captures your fills through your prop firm's official API. For Tradovate-cleared firms you authorize it by connecting your Tradovate account — you sign in on Tradovate's own screen, and Loryn never sees or stores your Tradovate password; the access it receives is a read-only token, stored encrypted and never leaving our servers. For Topstep, you authorize capture with a TopstepX (ProjectX) API key you generate yourself and paste in, which Loryn stores encrypted; using the Topstep API requires your own ProjectX API subscription. Either connection is read-only — it never places trades or moves money — and you can revoke it at any time by disconnecting Loryn in your settings. An optional companion browser extension can surface your fills a little faster while you have Tradovate open, but it is not required for capture. You are responsible for complying with your broker's terms of service.
Loryn is an independent product. Loryn captures through the Tradovate API and, for Topstep, the TopstepX (ProjectX) API, and works within the NinjaTrader and Tradovate ecosystem as a vendor; NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Kinetick, Topstep, and ProjectX do not endorse, approve, certify, or sponsor Loryn. Loryn is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any partnership with Apex Trader Funding, Topstep, or any other broker, exchange, or proprietary-trading firm. "NinjaTrader," "Tradovate," "Kinetick," "TopstepX," "ProjectX," "Apex," and other third-party names and logos are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility. Using Loryn does not change, satisfy, or waive your obligations under any broker agreement or any prop-firm evaluation or funded-account agreement, and Loryn does not interpret, enforce, or guarantee anything about your standing with any firm.
11. Your data
Your trading data belongs to you. We use it only to operate Loryn for you. We do not sell it. You can delete your data at any time, and request a copy by contacting us. We rely on a small set of third-party processors (such as Supabase, Stripe, Anthropic, and ElevenLabs) to run the service; the full, current list and how each one is used is in the Privacy Policy, which also covers retention, your rights, and international transfers.
12. AI usage limits
The Standard and Pro plans (which include the AI assistant — coming soon) have daily caps on AI usage (both chat and voice). When you hit a cap, AI features pause until the next reset. The Journal plan has no AI features, and journal capture is never gated by AI usage.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
Loryn is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that the data Loryn captures will perfectly mirror your broker's records. We work hard to make it reliable, but trading data is your responsibility to verify against your broker statements.
Some places give consumers legal guarantees about digital services that can't be waived. If you live somewhere like that, those guarantees still apply, and nothing here is meant to take them away.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Loryn's total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any trading losses, missed opportunities, or indirect damages.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded — including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section affects your rights under the mandatory consumer-protection laws that apply where you live.
15. Termination
You can close your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. When you do, every row of your data is deleted immediately and cannot be recovered, and any active Stripe subscription is canceled at the same time — there is no recovery window for a deletion you initiate (residual copies in backups and caches are purged within 30 days). We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we cancel your subscription for non-payment, your data is kept for 30 days from cancellation (in case you reactivate) and then permanently deleted. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention schedule.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we will email you and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
17. General
Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Loryn about your use of the service, and they replace any earlier agreements, statements, or marketing claims about the same subject, whether made on our website, in our FAQ, by email, or by the AI assistant.
Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court in any jurisdiction, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, or removed if it cannot be, and the rest of these terms will remain in full force and effect.
Assignment. You may not transfer or assign your account or these terms to anyone else. We may assign these terms — for example, if Loryn is sold or its operator changes — and the agreement will continue with the new operator. If that happens, we will let you know by email, and you may delete your account from your settings before any transfer takes effect.
No waiver. If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, that isn't a waiver — we can still enforce it later. A waiver only counts if we put it in writing.
Events outside our control. Loryn depends on services we don't run — your broker's connection (Tradovate), our database and login provider, payment processing, the AI and voice providers, and our hosting. We aren't responsible for delays, gaps in trade capture, or outages caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including failures or changes at those providers, internet or network problems, or other circumstances we can't reasonably prevent.
Survival. The sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends — including Not financial advice, Acceptable use, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, and the governing-law and disputes terms — stay in effect after termination.
No third-party beneficiaries. These terms are between you and Loryn only. No other person or company — including your broker, prop firm, or any provider we use — gains any rights under them.
18. Who we are, governing law, and disputes
Loryn is an independently owned and operated service based in the United States. "Loryn," "we," "us," and "our" in these Terms refer to the owner and operator of the Loryn service.
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or your use of Loryn, are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Let's try to fix it first. If you have a problem or a dispute, please contact us before filing anything formal. Most issues can be resolved by email. You agree to give us 30 days from the date you contact us to resolve the matter informally before starting a court proceeding, and we'll extend you the same courtesy.
If the dispute isn't resolved, you and Loryn agree that it will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you and Loryn each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Two exceptions: (a) either of us may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction; and (b) either of us may ask any court of competent jurisdiction for an injunction or other urgent relief to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property, or a breach of the Acceptable use section, without first waiting out the 30-day informal-resolution period.
We have deliberately chosen not to require binding arbitration and not to make you waive class or representative actions. You keep your right to have a dispute heard by a court.
Nothing in this section takes away any right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country or state where you live. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another place whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, those rights still apply and override the forum and choice-of-law above to the extent the law requires.
